| SKATEBOARD DECK MANUFACTURING OVERVIEW Point Distribution was founded in 2004 and custom skateboard deck manufacturing was the first product line we offered. Unlike most skateboard manufacturers we offer an in-stock inventory of premade decks to compliment our custom deck program. The in-stock program allows for lightning fast turnaround on custom printing on our most popular sizes, shapes, concaves, and colors (bottom pass painted decks and full dips). We accept orders as small as 25 decks and allow unlimited assorted sizes and colors(natural, bottom pass, dipped, etc) within in-stock orders. With options* that include: heat transfer printing, silkscreen printing, custom shapes, custom concaves, and more, Point can handle your order big and small. *certain charges and minimums apply. |

TECH INFO
| CONSTRUCTION Unless stated otherwise all of our decks are constructed of 7 plies of 100% American/Canadian Maple (wood species- Acer Saccharum) with skateboard specific glue made by Franklin. Occasionally and on specific request we use Bamboo, fiberglass and other exotic materials but the tried and true 7 ply Canadian Maple is our most popular construction. |
| PRESSING All of Point’s decks are cold pressed. This method takes more time than a hot pressed deck but does not subject the wood to high temperatures that can weaken the wood fibers. The uncut decks are allowed to cure for 7 days in large stacks before finishing. |

PRINTING OPTIONS

SCREEN PRINTING Direct screen printing to the deck. We recommend this type of printing for smaller, less detailed one or two color graphics or top prints.
HEAT TRANSFER PRINTING Similar to traditional screen printing but with an added step. Instead of printing directly to the deck the graphic is first printed on a mylar sheet then the sheet is applied to the deck with a hot roller machine. This allows for a much higher quality print. The smudging and registration problems associated with direct screen printing to a curved surface are a thing of the past with transfer printing. |
